Click to view Joe's amazing sales!
One of the most inspirational people in self-publishing to the Amazon kindle is Joe Konrath. He is a fiction writer and is making the most unbelievable killing on Amazon. In a blog post a few months back he states that he has made more than 100,000 smackers in less than three weeks!! Now tell me that isn’t amazing…
My personal income from Amazon is no where near that, but as I continue publishing I expect to keep doing better and better. Can you expect to earn this amount of money? In Joe’s words, probably not… Don’t be discouraged though! I am quite happy sneaking up on six figures a year and I have no doubt that as I become a better writer and more prolific I will be able to do quite well self publishing to the kindle. It is certainly possible to have a book published to the Amazon Kindle in less than an hour, and selling in just a couple of days. Unfortunately though, no one is looking over your shoulder to make sure you are doing it right. Love your writing
Right now I am struggling with my most recent book “101 reasons he won’t marry you”. Why? I think because I have lost the spark for relationship writing. The last book I wrote “Kindle Cash” I screamed through completing nearly 3,000 words a day. The current book? Ouch… a pitiful 1,000 a day that I have to squeak out in the midst of constant procrastination.
I am not entirely sure if the difficulty is simply the difficulty of producing this material or if it is because I am burned out. I am thinking the later since I have removed my email from all of my books in order to avoid the constant requests I get for relationship advice. The most typical being “How do I get him to leave his wife?” Grrr… I will never write that book. [click to continue…]

Publishing on the Kindle
Want to publish on the Kindle? As long as you have some sort of word document sure! No problem, you can get that puppy up in less than an hour, but will it sell?
My experience
Initially, I thought it would be quite easy to become quiet wealthy just publishing for the Kindle. My very first book took off, although it took over six months to do so. I figured that all I would have to do is write a few more books and let them become as popular as the first. Easy right? No… after two miserably failed attempts, I became confused and frustrated as to why I couldn’t replicate my first success.
It is easy once you know how
These two painful failures lead me to figure out some crucial points to being successful on the Amazon Kindle: [click to continue…]

Don't Panic! Publishing on the Kindle is easy!
Kindle publishing tips you may have heard – What works, what doesn’t
This is an excerpt from my book on Kindle Publishing soon to be released on Amazon. Here are some common misunderstandings when marking an ebook on the kindle.
- Update your email signature – What? Are you a network marketer now? Do you send out 100 mails a day in order for this kindle marketing to be effective? What this advice is missing is that people don’t buy what they don’t want and if I put this book as an email signature, I imagine only my stepfather would buy it out of curiosity and probably no one else. You can hand out a million flyers for your new punk band but if you do it at a Mormon convention you are wasting your time. Rather than link to your book to your email signature, link your website where you might have more offerings if they cared to look. [click to continue…]

Want to Publish on the Kindle? Eat it!
This is an excerpt from my newest book soon to be released on Amazon: Don’t Panic! The Beginner’s Guide to Creating, Marketing and Publishing your information eBook on the Kindle
- Eat your frog – I learned this from productivity guru Brian Tracy, he says, “If every morning when you wake you eat the largest nastiest frog you can, the rest of the day become quite effortless.” While this is a bit of an odd saying, it sticks to the inside of your skull. What does it mean? Simple, take on your biggest task first thing in the morning, which is your most creative time of day. So to put it even more simply, when you wake up, don’t check your email, watch the news, or some other way to squander your time. Use this particularly fertile time to do what is most difficult and most important, write your book! – From Publishing on the Kindle [click to continue…]

Publishing on the Kindle needs a bleeding neck!

This is the major difference between fiction and non-fiction. All writing is to help our audience solve a problem, in fiction that problem is of boredom. In non-fiction there are millions upon millions of problems that people need fixed. Many of these problems go unanswered, and everyday new problems arise. Maybe you will be the first one to write the book about marketing on Google+, or you find a better way to market an eBook than I? [click to continue…]
